Think of this as the acceptance letter you actually wanted to receive.

Desk Rejected is a platform for academics to share their professional failures, rejections, and setbacks. The Service allows users to create profiles, document their failures, and browse failures shared by others.

We provide a space for commiseration, not a therapy service. For actual mental health support, please consult a professional.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. User Content

Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the content you post. You agree not to post content that:

• Is false, misleading, or fraudulent
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains personal information about others without consent
• Is defamatory, harassing, or abusive

Content License

By posting content, you grant Desk Rejected a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.

You retain ownership of your content. Your failures remain yours—we just help you share them.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DESK REJECTED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

We're not responsible if sharing your failures doesn't lead to tenure.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Desk Rejected from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause or notice. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, though we may retain certain data as required by law.
